How to pick a stake from your income
Use the floor for your income band, then raise the daily amount until the total is something you would not shrug off.
Start with the band, not the daydream. Under $60,000 a year, you cannot go under $5 a day, and $10 is the suggestion. From $60,000 to $120,000, the floor is $15 and the suggestion is $25. From $120,000 to $250,000, the floor is $40 and the suggestion is $75. Over $250,000, the floor is $50 and the suggestion is $100. The cap is $200 a day on every band. These are yearly figures, before you get clever about bonuses. If you are between bands, pick the higher one.
Then look at the charged total, not the daily number. A $25 day for 14 days is $350 on the card today. A $75 day for 30 days is $2,250. The slip shows that total as you drag. It also shows what you forfeit if you miss a number of days you choose, and what comes back if you finish every day. Finish every day and the refund is the full deposit. Miss three days at $25 and $75 is the fee. The other $275 comes back at the end.
Use this test. Picture the forfeited amount leaving and not coming back. If you would not notice, raise the stake. If you would break the contract on day 1 out of fear, you are above what you can actually do, and you should shorten the contract before you shrink under the floor. Seven days is a real contract. Thirty days is a month of the same rule. Do not buy thirty days of a task you have not done once.
The lane does not change the floor. A workout, a plate, and a work block are the same kind of promise: you will open the link and pass the check. The work block is longer on some days. That does not mean it should be cheaper. If anything, a 45 minute block you are likely to dodge needs a number you respect.
Pay the stake from an account you see. The charge is immediate. The refund is later, one time, to that same card. Do not stake money you need for rent on the assumption that you will be refunded next week. You might miss a day. That is the design. Stripe's docs say the credit often takes 5 to 10 business days even when the refund is sent right away.
The coach is not part of this math. $19 once, separate, only if you want tomorrow to change. Leave it off if you only want the proof. The sentence to keep next to the slider is the same one on the slip. If you would not notice it missing, it will not change the day.
Can I stake more than the suggestion?
Yes. The suggestion is a start. The cap is $200 a day.
Can I stake less than the floor if I am cautious?
No. Caution is a shorter contract, not a stake under the floor for your income.
